Australian skydiving granny, 102, sets world record

An Australian woman has become the world's oldest skydiver, taking the plunge at the age of 102.

Irene O'Shea jumped into the record books two years after she also skydived to mark her 100th birthday.

SA Skydiving in Adelaide has congratulated the great-grandmother on her achievement after she jumped in tandem with instructor Jed Smith.

"An incredible woman, achieving incredible things," the company said.

O'Shea's son-in-law Mike FitzHenry said there was no talking her out of the jump.

"She decides what is going to be and you go with it."

"No, not with Irene O'Shea, you don't try and talk her out of anything," FitzHenry told radio FIVEaa.

"She decides what is going to be and you go with it."

O'Shea's jump was also designed to raise funds for research into motor neurone disease.
