Free Property Development Seminar in Christchurch

Exciting times ahead for Canterbury’s housing industry: with new subdivisions springing up everywhere and new developments in all parts of the city, it’s no wonder people are thinking about tapping into the industry. If you are a property owner in Christchurch and are considering taking the next step by looking into development for the first time, we’ve got just the right event for you.

The Christchurch City Council is offering a free half-day workshop on 1 August. This introduction to commercial property development is designed for investors who may have to rebuild damaged investment properties after the earthquakes but don’t have a background in property development.

The seminar will give you a wealth of practical information such as robust risk management approaches and how to bring together a project team. Mayor Bob Parker encourages all first-time developers to take advantage of the opportunity: “The process of developing a building in challenging circumstances requires a specialised skill set to avoid making costly and time-consuming mistakes. It's important that future developers arm themselves with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.”

If you are keen to learn more, register for the workshop via email (register@ccc.govt.nz) by 5pm Monday, 30 July.
