Christchurch Housing Crisis – Bayleys Has Properties Available

It’s breaking news: Christchurch’s rental housing crisis has reached a critical point with virtually no property for rent left available.
As tenants have to move out in order for repair works to be undertaken on their houses, it is near impossible to find short-term interim accommodation in Christchurch. The result is that many tenants have to remain in their homes while they are being fixed. While Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee promised that a temporary accommodation village would be available in 12 weeks, Real Estate Managers call for more short-term rental accommodation to be set up by EQC or the Building and Housing Department. Some even predict a competition for motel rooms between tourists and locals as the situation worsens.

At Bayleys Property Management we are of course trying to do our bit to accommodate as many tenants as possible, as quickly and effectively as we can. Our Christchurch Property Managers exclusively deal with 6-month agreements and longer-term rentals and work around the clock to make sure both our landlords and tenants are happy. At the moment we still have a handful of quality Christchurch rental properties available to view now.

Bayleys Property Management also offer an alert system which notifies you of any properties which become available. If you want to be one of the first to hear about new rental properties in Christchurch and increase your chances by getting your application in early, register for Bayleys’ My Property service today.
